Originally from Normandy, France, Myriam was trained in several prestigious hair salons in Paris before moving to Washington DC. She pursued her career for over ten years in our Nation’s Capital and earned the opportunity to join George’s salon at the Four Seasons on Pennsylvania avenue. While there, Myriam became a choice favorite of dignitaries such as Senator John Kerry and celebrities such as MSNBC “Hardball” anchor Chris Matthews, CNN reporter Jean Meserve, actress Dean Bray, and many more. Myriam’s work has appeared in “Short Hairstyles” magazine among other publications. Myriam has now settled down in beautiful La Jolla and has named her salon Harlow to honor the hair salon that had made it all possible for her. Her amazing story has inspired us for years and we are so lucky to have her and her employees as tenants and friends.

We recently asked Judy a few questions about her salon and a few of the other amazing activities she does.

CGP:  What do you like best about your salon business?

jjj:  Making people feel better about themselves. Especially women with thinning hair , I apply extensions or hair replacements for more volume and sometimes length. When you look good you feel good ,  hair can change your outlook on life.

CGP:  Who or what was your favorite artistic subject?

jjj:   I have  always been interested in anything fashionable or artistic so I enjoy painting wearable art . Painting on silk using French dyes and techniques I create one of a kind scarves , blouses, & camisoles.

CGP:  How and when did you begin painting?

jjj:  When I was really young I begged my parents to let me take a summer class at a college , I was the youngest one.

CGP:  What media have you worked in before?

jjj:   Oil and watercolor. I paint almost every day

CGP:  What project would you like to create next, if you could do anything?

jjj:   I am going to paint a large silk piece for ” Natural High ” an organization in San Diego that helps young people stay off drugs and find their natural high.
